Rooted Birthways LLC is an independent doula practice

by Dichela Ueki, rooted in culturally grounded holistic support.

Fueled by Palauan ancestral memory born

from domes filled with steaming pots of llel a rebotel, homes filled with the scent of

reng ma cheluch er Belau, its vibrant hues smeared across hands, faces, bodies, clothes.

Traditional practices we've passed through generations because as a

community, we learned how to show up and support our birthing parents in their journeys.

Being a Doula is more than just providing care — it's sustaining our foundation of healing.

What is
a Doula?

A Doula is a non-clinical care worker who supports pregnant people before, during, and after birth. We help write birth plans, advocate in medical spaces, teach about labor positions, and hold space for healing — physical, emotional, and spiritual.

Before it got this name, this was the role often taken on by aunties, sisters, cousins, and grandmothers — those who stood beside birthing parents, bringing comfort, strength, and guidance.

I’m Dichela Ueki, a queer Palauan doula, here to support you through your journey of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

My path into this work began with the traditional healing ceremonies I witnessed at home in the Republic of  Palau — moments filled with care, ritual, and community. In those spaces, birth was not just a medical event, but a sacred transition held by many hands.

I see this work as a way to return birth to the hands, hearts, and voices of those experiencing it.  To center your story, your body, and your knowing.
